One of the best relationships in the Taiwanese industry has to be between Ivy Shao and Marcus Zhang, who not only stared on Back to 1989 together but also dated in real life. Although they were slow to admit it, and were caught out by the media a few times, they eventually admitted to dating....But both went their separate ways after a year or so. The reason for their split? Busy schedules and wanting to focus on their careers since both were on the path up after the success of Back to 1989. However, the split was super amicable and both Ivy and Marcus remain really good friends and can be seen featured in each other's instagrams every so often, hanging out together on each other's birthdays, house-warmings and concerts.
So I guess it's no surprise Marcus came to support Ivy by watching her play in Taichung. Not sure why Taichung, as Ivy also performed in Taipei where most stars watched it. Maybe his schedule was busy and he could only make it to the Taichung performances, so travelled the distance?! However, it's clear they still have a pretty close relationship as Ivy's caption for these photos were: "Taichung Family is here 😍" Super sweet that she still considers him family! These days both Ivy and Marcus are comfortable talking about their old relationship even to the media - they don't disclose too much, but they've mentioned in a number of interviews they're still in contact with each other. So I wonder if this relationship will be on the cards again one day. But I'm totally happy to see these two being close friends and hanging out as much as they can!
