The Swoon continues dropping cute interview and Q&A snippets of Jasper Liu 劉以豪 & Lee Seung Gi 이승기 for Twogether

I'm loving the Bromance between Jasper Liu and Lee Seung Gi. Every interview is super cute and the boys are clearly close - so close that they often pick the same answers, finish off each other's sentences and are full of praise for each other. Jasper, when asked what his most important travel item to pack in his bag was, answered Lee Seung Gi! You can watch their antics below (mostly subbed!):

I've also collected a bunch of photos from the same Netflix Press day (judging from their outfits). These were the challenges they said they'd complete if Twogether hit a certain target - And the outcomes of their challenges.

Instagram Updates: Jasper Liu 劉以豪 posts Polaroids with Lee Seung Gi 이승기 from Twogether

Jasper posted some Polaroids of him and Lee Seung-gi from Twogether. He's multi-talented with languages and wrote the caption in 3 languages: Mandarin, English and Korean. Here's the English version: 'Thanks for all my partners and directors. We did a great great job. The photo that we took on the bottom of the mountain.' I love a good Polaroid and these ones of the boys are such cute keepsakes!

It's lovely to see Jasper continuing to reach out to all his international fans and promoting Twogether across his socials despite being super busy filming his new project, Use for My Talent in China.

Jasper Liu 劉以豪 Talks to Korean Media about Twogether, Lee Seung Gi 이승기, fans and his hopes to work in Korea

These photos of Jasper are so adorable and seem to have been used in a fresh series of interviews  conducted yesterday to promote Twogether in Korea. I don't speak Korean, so the interviews below are translated through Google, rather than my own understanding of the language and any parts that didn't make sense were just left out.

Jasper on the making of Twogether:

“I didn't worry much from the beginning. I liked the concept of meeting fans. I also liked Lee Seung-Gi and his work from before. I didn't think of any difficulties in the process because the production team were the ones behind 'Running Man.' Of course, I thought there would be a difference in language and culture, but I decided to try it The process of getting to know each other was harder than I thought because we didn't share the same language. It was a challenge."

"In the past, I'd rarely participated in shows like Together. It's my first reality program. The Korean production team is very professional and the process itself is fun. I felt there were a lot of language restrictions, so I think I'll study Korean harder. Since it was the first time I did a reality show, I couldn't figure out what I needed to do. I didn't take any shampoo, etc, so I borrowed from PD because I thought we'd stay at hotels when we were filming - PD told me to take my own next time (laughs)"

Jasper on Lee Seung-Gi:

"Lee Seung-gi has lots of strengths. He is a brave person. He knows how to stabilise the situations in his surroundings when he needs to. He has a smart head. He has a very good memory. He sings very well and acts very well."

"I had a positive time and felt compatible with Seung-gi. The process of travelling with Seung-gi was very comfortable. If people are too different, it can be difficult. Our habits of sleeping quietly is similar, so I never felt uncomfortable.”

"It was hard to have such short amounts of sleep. The mission involving the diving was difficult. It was done on a morning when I was less awake, and it was one of the biggest challenges of my life." Jasper, who was often tricked by Lee Seung-gi throughout the program, said, “I have a lot of gratitude rather than feeling betrayal. I still appreciate Mr. Lee Seung Gi. I learned a lot!"

Jasper on meeting his fans and working in Korea:

"When I met the fans, I was very impressed. I was wondering what kind of people in Asia would like us, and I thought about whether there would be any fans. It was awesome."

"I want to go to Korea. I was expecting that I could come to Korea for Twogether promotions. I hope that there will be an opportunity to participate in the work there. I'm studying Korean hard right now. If I learn Korean, there will be many opportunities to get involved in good projects and I will be able to communicate more with Korean fans."

Series Opinion Piece: Twogether - The fun and wholesome variety series we need in these dark times

Twogether has been so much fun to watch that I've decided to do a series opinion piece. Though it's not a drama, there's a lot of little things I want to talk about since this has been the first Variety show I've seen and the first one Jasper has done as well.

Warning - May contain spoilers for Twogether Netflix. If you haven't seen or finished the series yet, you may want to do that before reading this piece.

Twogether is a variety series that follows Lee Seung Gi and Jasper Liu as they complete missions in several cities around South East Asia with the goal of meeting their fans in each location. It's a super fun idea and a show that we need in this period of Covid stress because it reminds us what normal life was a year ago. It's lighthearted, it's fun and it's not about luxurious travel despite featuring two of the biggest stars in Asia. It's about adventure, games, living life on the road - all the thing we seem to have forgotten with the negative events of this year.

Why else do we need this show at the moment? We need it to see the pairing of Jasper and Lee Seung Gi of course! Both boys are similar in that they're multi-talented (Both actors and musicians) and have a wide fan base across Asia. They've also got similar personalities and this is definitely a recipe for a good bromance across their travels.

Looking at the first episode, it's interesting that the series started from the airport to give context that they had different travel experiences. The reactions of both the guys when they found out they were going to Yogyakarta was hilarious - They were both so clueless! But I have to admit I'd totally react in the same way - Despite being well travelled, I (shamefully) wasn't aware of this city before this series! Even though he had no idea where he was going, Jasper was super happy to be travelling again. I think it's side of Jasper that really helps in a series like this - generally optimistic, chill and up for anything!

I have to say I'm pretty surprised Lee Seung Gi was so so surprised about having a fan in this city as Korean stars are so well known across the globe that I'd be more surprised if there were no fans in a particular country.

It was cute to see Jasper interacting with fans as soon as he touched down. I have to say I'm super jelly of those fans who were in front of him in the queue and got to take a picture with him. That's such a dreamy scenario if you're a big fan - running into your favourite idol by chance in another country! Jasper must have been so tired after the flight, but it was so nice to see him still being energetic with the Indonesian airport staff who were his fans.

One of my favourite things about the airport scenes was Jasper making Lee Seung Gi a welcome sign. It's a typically Jasper thing to have a pretty good rapport with his co-stars.

He's well known to have very good bromances - I've lost count of how many bromances he's had with co-stars over the years!!

Lee Seung Gi is super lucky to be getting Jasper waiting for him at the airport with a hand drawn sign! His reaction to it was pretty cute so I'd like to think he knows how special it was, haha.

The show was meant to promote tourism in South East Asia - as fans see all the beautiful locations and think about going there when they travel themselves. Some serious fans might even plan a holiday following the exact route of their idols. Since Covid has erupted on the scene, travel has been seriously disrupted. But the show now serves a different purpose - to allow fans to travel vicariously through the boy's adventures. It's allowed fans to either relive their own travels - I could remember my own Tuktuk rides from theirs - but also to experience new things with them as they journey through this exotic lands. Apart from how charming both the boys are, I think this is part of the appeal of this series.

Another reason is show is so much fun, and a good way to distract yourself from the negativity of this year, is the humour. There are so many actual laugh out laugh moments in the series. Lee Seung Gi is very cheeky, but also Jasper matches this and has very good comedic timing - so jokes and witty dialogue entertain everyone even when the boys are not on missions. In the first episode one of the best jokes is when the director is sorting out the budget for the trip.

He gives them money for their first location but deducts all the expenses uses thus far including 8 cups of coffee that Lee Seung Gi bought in Seoul, which is more expensive than their accommodation in Yogyakarta!

Jasper who doesn't understand what's going on asks Lee Seung Gi immediately in Korean, which is funny in itself - but then Lee Seung Gi lies that it's donation given for the sake of world peace. The director then explains to Jasper actually Lee Seung Gi borrowed money before to buy coffee!

Jasper Liu 劉以豪 drops some pretty new stills and promotes virtual fan meet for upcoming Netflix project Twogether

Totally looking forward to Jasper's new Netflix project, Twogether, coming out this week. Along with the Korean drama, It's OK to Not be OK, I think it's going to make life better while the restrictions have been tightened for Covid where I live.

Jasper himself dropped some lovely stills of the project today together with links to participate in a virtual fan meet with him on Netflix's Youtube fan channel, The Swoon or V Live, which will both be live streaming the event. All you have to do is submit a question over at The Swoon!

Jasper's photos reveal some scenes that were not shown as part of the trailer, so it's nice to get another glimpse of the show before it starts!

Some other news agencies have also added new stills as well, which overlap with Jasper's:

Netflix Drops Trailer of Twogether, Jasper Liu 劉以豪 and Lee Seung Gi 이승기 's travel show

Netflix is a bit of a God send this year if you want a break from all the devastating news we seem to be getting on a regular basis. What better way to cheer up than to watch this Twogether trailer released today, a first peek at Jasper Liu and Lee Seung Ji's travel and fan-meeting adventures.

Their adventures look fun and it's hilarious to see the boys try to communicate with each other and the locals they encounter. I really like seeing the boys speak other languages - It's interesting that is English still one of the common Lingua Francas connecting everyone, even in Asia. Here's a  bunch of good quality stills from the trailer. How pretty does Jasper look performing?

Netflix currently has these funny pictures as a placeholders for the Twogether page until the series goes up. Hope they release some other stills too - but I'm sure that's what's planned for the next fortnight until the series drops for streaming.
