Translation: Simon Lian 連晨翔 interview for SETTV about playing Qing Feng in Lost Romance 浪漫输给你

This series...Every time I think I am done with translations, they'll release something with Simon Lian and I feel I just have to translate XD

Simon: Hi Everyone! I am Simon Lian and in Lost Romance, I act as Qing Feng.
Simon: Originally when I saw the script, I felt that very few people would entrust such a warm, 'protective-of-the-female-lead' type role to me.
Simon laughs: Maybe because I look too frivolous
-Cut to a Scene where Qing Feng introduces himself to Xiao En-
---I'm not going to translate the dialogue in the Lost Romance scenes they show in this video because you've probably all seen the scenes or can look it up if you need to do- just saving time to do the important Simon interview bits!---
Simon: Qing Feng is a role that has a very mysterious feeling (or personality)
Simon: Perhaps when we first started our scripts or whatever...
Simon: I would not raise questions
Simon: Or (automatically) say things
Simon: Because I felt I didn't want to hear too much about what everyone's opinion on what type of person Qing Feng was
Simon: Because I was afraid if I heard (these things)
Simon: At the moment of filming, I might have the habit of...
Simon: Go in the way that everyone expects
Simon: I also never discussed with the Director anything about Qing Feng (about his past)
Simon: Because I felt...
Simon: The less I knew the better
-Cuts to the scene where Qing Feng is trapped in the Lift with Chu Chu-
Simon: The slower people talk, the more they have a mysterious feeling about them
Simon: Just like how I think Marcus Chang has a mysterious feeling about him - it's the same
Simon: Because he speaks very slowly and so when I started joining the cast
Simon: I observed Marcus Chang
Simon: I would regularly observe him
---Haha, even in a "serious" interview, there is so much Simon and Marcus Bromance---
Simon: That is...his every habit/pattern, his every movement
Simon: I would very earnestly observe him
-Cuts to the scene where Qing Feng tells Xiao En she promised not to cry because of Aoran-
Simon: At that time when I saw the script
Simon: And saw that he had to protect Zheng Xiao En
Simon: (I thought) I now have to blend this into my life
Simon: (And then I thought) Who is the woman that I most want to protect?
Simon: As a result, I thought of my mother
---Hahaha, I think this is sweet. Before anyone gets the wrong idea or starts with weird comments, he's talking about the gentleness and the protectiveness in Qing Feng's character towards Xiao En, not the romance he has with her. Also, I think it's just an actor's way not to get caught in any rumours. Simon's been in a few - I think the biggest rumour was he was dating Emma Wu/ Gui Gui a few years back. But yeah, this is personal without being too personal!---
Simon: Yeah...so actually, when I was acting
Simon grinning: A lot of internal things were things I wanted to say to my mum
---Also that grin says he just can't be too serious when asked about "romance" type questions---
-Cuts to a question asked to Vivian-
Interviewer: How does Xiao En place Qing Feng in her heart?
Vivian: As a sister!
----This refers to an on-going joke with Simon from Episode 9's Behind the Scenes---
Vivian laughs: I'm just talking silly
Vivian: No, I'm just joking
Vivian yells over to someone, probably Simon, laughing: I'm just joking!
-Cuts back to Simon-
Simon laughs: I feel like she (Xiao En) is someone who came to our world to treat me like Zhu Ge Liang
Simon laughs: The Zhu Ge Liang of the emotional or romantic area
---For those who don't know who Zhu Ge Liang is, he is a character from the Chinese mythological tales of The Romance of 3 Kingdoms. His character is very smart and strategic and could devise good strategies to take down enemies. He was also also magical---
-Cuts back to Vivian-
Vivian: I think the relationship between Xiao En and Qing Feng is comrades

Up to 2:14 on the Video. To be continued...

Pictures: Jasper Liu 劉以豪 releases Music Video for 半空 (English Translation: 'Mid-Air' or 'Your Favorite Song')

Jasper now has second music video for his EP. This one is for my favourite song 半空  (English Translation: 'Mid-Air' or as Pourquoi Pas Music have named it, 'Your Favorite Song.') While 'U' was fun and poppy, I like this song more as it displays Jasper's singing better as well as tells a better story, lyrically.

Jasper's agency also released this still to promote the new music video, which seems more darker and emotional than the music video for 'U.' While I do like this song more, I think the music video for 'U' was much more fun and whimsical and looked like something out of a Wes Anderson movie. It'd be nice to have a combination of the 2 for one of Jasper's future songs!

Pictures & Translation: Some Day or One Day 想見你 After-Party Interviews includes Greg Hsu 許光漢 Saving Alice Ke 柯佳嬿 from some Awkward Questions about her Ex & Alice saying Greg is Calm

As the big winners of last night's Golden Bell Awards, Greg and Alice pretty much did not sleep. After the show they attended the Post-Awards Party and Post-Awards press conference. At least the after party looked relaxed rather than wild to give them a break. The Post-Awards press conference took place at 2:30am though!

Much of the more interesting, and admittedly more gossipy questions were asked by the press at this press conference. The main item of interrogation was the fact that Alice's award was semi presented to her by one of her most well-known Ex-boyfriends, Edison Wang/ Wang Bo-chieh (from Yong-Jiu Grocery Store and Nowhere Man.) I'm not huge on providing gossip, but I'll provide the context so you can understand the interest from the interviewers: The two dated for a few years after they worked together around 2008 and there were rumours Edison had a breakdown a month after they split (an apparent attempted suicide), though he denied that it was due to the end of their relationship. It doesn't sound like they had the best of times as Edison drank a lot at the time. During the Awards, there was little interaction between Alice and her ex because Joseph Chang (I think knowing this was his friend's ex) handed Alice the trophy (though he did tease Edison saying "I know who you would like to win!" and asked him to read out the winner's name). I think it's a been a long time and Alice has been married awhile and probably doesn't even think about this anymore, but the media never forgets peoples' exes! I'll provide a brief translation of the interview by Mirror Media below - Alice is very good at holding her own, but it was sweet of Greg to try to jump in too!

Mirror Media Interview (First video above)

One of the interviewers asked Alice, "You just met one of your old loves (Edison Wang/ Wang Bo-chieh). Did you think of this matter? Did you feel awkward?" Alice replied that she didn't think about this because she had a massive mind blank and had trouble even thinking about who she wanted to thank, so she didn't have time/energy to think about this other stuff. The interviewers then asked, "Do you know who gave you the actual award?" Alice laughed and said it was Joseph Chang. But interviewers are determined - another interviewer asked if she had heard when Joseph Chang said to Edison Wang "I know who you would like to win." Alice laughs and says she didn't hear that and she was pretty empty-headed at the time. Another reporter said, "But he (Edison) announced your name."

Somewhere around this time, Greg starts talking about something else to rescue Alice, but it's kind of funny because he's not very smooth and just says a bunch of things. He says "Actually, I think this drama, Some Day or One Day, has brought on the effect of...". But the reporters are touched because it's obvious that he's trying to draw them away from talking about Alice's Ex (who Greg has also worked with in Nowhere Man.)  The reporters respond by saying "He's saving her!" "He's so smart!"

Alice bursts out laughing after someone says "He's repaying an act of kindness" (Alice spoke up for Greg when he was in a spot with the media for some news about his old acting teachers). Greg ended up saying he's grateful that the drama was broadcast in so many places and he appreciates those fans in Japan, Korea and elsewhere. Alice claps when Greg stops talking and says it's the first time he's saved her and she's very touched, making Greg grin.

The reporters then ask if Alice had comforted Greg. Alice says Greg doesn't need comforting because he's very calm and collected. But one of the reporters said that his lips had turned white. Alice said it's because he hasn't eaten - they all hadn't eaten (No wonder she blanked out on stage!) Greg said he'll lick it better and he does (which they replay). A reporter said that once it was revealed that Greg Hsu didn't win the award roughly 10,000 Korean viewers dropped off from watching the live stream.

Greg and Alice were so shocked that they both replied in unison, "Is this real or just a joke?!" The reporter said it was around that many people. Alice said they were just angry and Greg said that sounded like an exaggeration! The reporter insists it was true and Greg said he didn't know that and he thanked them for their support, though he hoped they would stay till the end of the live stream because of the Best Drama award (which they won.)

Someday or One Day 想見你 Sweeps 4 Awards at the Golden Bell including Best Actress for Alice Ke 柯佳嬿 and Best Drama

So proud of Some Day or One Day! The drama won 4 out of the 6 awards it was nominated for at the Golden Bell and took home the grand prize of 'Best Drama' for 2020. To give a full picture, the 4 categories the series took out were:

-Best Scriptwriting
-Best Innovation/ Creative Programme & Production
-Best Actress for Alice ke
-Best Drama

It's a shame it missed out on the Best Director and Best Actor categories, but I think it's fair to say that it was tough competition this year and the awards went to well deserving individuals - it gave Yong-Jiu Grocery Store a win for Best Director (Another well deserving series), and also gave The Mirror a win for Best Actor (Haven't seen this series yet but Jack Yao was apparently very strong in his performance). The social media team for Some Day or One Day made some beautiful commemorative stills for each of their wins:

This was Alice's second Golden Bell win beating Cheryl Yang (from The Mirror) by just 1 point for victory apparently. It's also the second time this has happened with her first Golden Bell win for Marry Me or Not? also just a 1 point win over Cheryl. Alice said she felt it was surreal to be getting the award and her speech was a thanks to all the people who helped her achieve this dream. In the post-award interviews, Alice said that she realised that she might have forgotten to thank her biggest supporter - her husband, Kunda! She said felt bad for him because this series was challenging to film and she could sometimes be immersed in her character - so she might not have connected with her husband or friends as much. But she was really very grateful for his support!
