Another day, another awards night reuniting my latest favourite pairing Vivian Sung and Darren Wang from this year's Summer hit in Taiwan, Our Times 我的少女時代. Last weekend, one of China's well-known streaming sites, iQiyi hosted their All Star Carnival awards and brought about a gathering between some of Asia's top A-listers. I can't find any Youtube footage of these two, but there are some on iQiyi's streaming site here.
Still going strong, Vivian and Darren were invited to attend the awards. Here are the official promotional stills for both Vivian and Darren.
Vivian Sung just posted the cutest photo from the Golden Horse Awards with her and Darren Wang. There weren't actually many photos of just the two of them on the night. I think mostly due to the fact that she had to perform on stage during the ceremony and was therefore ushered around a lot.. But I'm so glad that they did take this photo on her phone and that she posted it up :) If I get time, I may compile more of their cute Instagram shots.

Ah, there's nothing like prestigious film awards to bring a cast back together again. Vivian Sung and Darren Wang were once again reunited to support their film Our Times at The Golden Horse Awards.
For the number of camera flashes that were going off as the were walking, there are surprisingly very few photos of them on the red carpet, but I've given you what I've found. Here's one of the entourage.
And here's one of Vivian and Darren. Ah, it's so cute that they walked the red carpet holding hands. These two are just so natural and comfortable doing common couple things that you can totally see why they had such great on-screen chemistry.
Anyway, their film Our Times was nominated for 3 Golden Horse awards including a Best Actress Award for Vivian. This was her official promotional photo for the awards.
While there weren't any wins for the film, there were a number of cute moments. Aside from holding hands, the two of them also shared a hug because Vivian would have to perform on stage later on and the interviewer asked if 'Hsu Tai Yu' (Darren's character in the movie) would like to give Vivian a hug for luck...so Darren happily played along and did that!
There was also a highly amusing Our Times sketch performance with Darren Wang and another actress acting as Vivian Sung's Our Times character, Lin Zhen Xin. This sketch led to Darren inviting Vivian up to sign the film's theme song, Xiao Xing Fu, A Little Happiness.
Vivian has been working to debut as a singer, but she was nervous during the performance and felt disappointed with her singing. It sounded fine to me (a little shaky) but the media have said that she was singing off key...and Vivian herself talked about her own disappointment on Facebook. She actually cried after the performance, but said she wants to do better next time. But honestly, she wasn't bad... just a little nervous. You could really tell that she had a beautiful voice. Anyway, have a listen for yourselves...
One last video...This one shows everyone taking photos. The film quality is super clear, but the sound quality is pretty poor...still worth watching to see Darren and Vivian.
For some reason, I felt that a lot of the photos weren't very clear for these Awards. But I've found the clearest pictures and collected them here :) Here is Vivian, Darren and the director of the film, Frankie. The cast photos below also feature the secondary leads, Dino Lee and Dewi Chien.

I always regret not checking out this film earlier because I loved it so much and I think I would have gotten more out of it if I'd seen all the promotional content as it came out. But I do live overseas and the film didn't come out over here till November, so I guess I have an excuse...
Anyway, although I missed out on a lot of magazine shots and things like that (It's impossible to buy a copy of the Our Times Vivi Magazine. Both covers sold out and I can't find any back copies T^T) I'm still lucky that there's still beautiful photos of Vivian, Darren and Dino floating around. Here are a bunch of interviews with just Vivian and Darren. There's just too many fun interviews to translate, so I can't possible do a line by line for each one, but I'll summarise and translate the snippets that I find interesting...So many cute moments...I've done some summaries already, but will continue to do more soon.
July Media
This is just an introduction video with Darren and Vivian introducing themselves and their characters in their film Our Times. They both talk a little about their characters, Hsu Tai Yu and Lin Zhen Xin.
August Media
This interview took place around Chinese Valentine's day, so the interviewers asked what types of Valentine's gifts they'd received before - anything special or unique. Darren said he'd gotten a card made from tissue paper before, while Vivian had gotten blue roses before. Both Darren and Vivian said they liked cards, particularly handmade ones, the most because those were the most heartfelt. Vivian joked that Darren was 'romantic' as the first thing he did when they met that day was give her flowers. They both laughed (I'm sure the flowers were because they had to pose with them for a photo shoot). Towards the end they talked about how when Lin Zhen Xin (Vivian's Our Times character) had dressed up, she looked like famous actor, Vivian Hsu. Vivian Sung got all surprised and Darren told the reporters, you've just said what she wanted to hear in her heart...they laugh and Darren makes jokes about how she's always wanted to hear this and how she's too happy about this...Vivian jokingly calls him annoying :D
Vivian responds to a question by telling a story about how she went to watch the film by herself and got all emotional, especially because Darren came over to where she was watching the film. She had finished with the movie, walked out of the cinema and saw her Hsu Tai Yu (Darren's Our Times character) standing there waiting for her and felt a return to how Lin Zhen Xin felt about him. ---I really like Darren's smile when she calls him her Hsu Tai Yu--- Later in the interview, they both get asked what type of girls or guys they like. Darren says he likes nice girls. Vivian says the type of guys she likes is sunny, humorous and and the type that would make her feel happy whenever she was with him. Darren cheekily points at himself, as if to say...me? And she looks at him and grins. Someone says, "What about Darren?" Vivian says laughingly, "Of Course, Darren is awesome, but there's so many big Darren fans standing around me that I feel nervous! But of course I like Darren!"
This next interview is part 1 of a 1 hour internet interview split into 2 videos (fans could post questions, read out by interviewers as well). The interview starts off with the interviewer asking them to make cute poses for photos, so they both end up doing cute and silly poses. One of the interviewers asks Darren to say his famous line in the film, which is, "I'll ask Andy Lau to sing to you." Darren does it with the same level of cool as he does in the film and Vivian pretends to get excited jokingly and says, "When, when, when?" Darren says to trust in his manly words and Vivian laughs and says, "Ok, I'll wait for you! You all heard it. If you say it, you have to be able to do it!" (which is also a famous line from the movie which her character says.)
The interviewer then says that someone requested that Darren do the leaning-against-the-wall-move on Vivian. Vivian laughs and says, "Did anyone ask me if it was ok?!" Darren asks, "You don't feel willing to do it, right?" Vivian grins, "No, it's ok, go ahead." So he does it...and then she looks up and makes a movement that looks like she's going to kiss him....Haha! Vivian then laughs, "Scared you, didn't I?" Someone asks Darren, "What's the most romantic thing you've ever done for a girlfriend?" Vivian helps him out by saying she remembers that he said that he's someone who shows his romance in his daily expressions, not by throwing about grand gestures.
Yep, I'm still obsessed with Our Times. I think aside from the film itself which I really enjoyed for the comedy, romance and 90's nostalgia, I also really love all the cast chemistry...Vivian and Darren are both really comfortable and playful around each other, having known each other long before they worked on this film together, and Dino Lee, Dewi Chien and the other cast members really get along. Most of the cast are around the same age and are rookie actors, so they love hanging together outside of the film and have really bonded together.
For today's post I've compiled a bunch of their interviews promoting the film. This dates back to probably July or August when Our Times was starting to hit the cinemas in Taiwan. I'm not going to translate all of them, but I'll translate little snippets which I liked from most of the videos.

Vivian: And then...my words today are...today we tasted and tried many different types of styles. I feel it's veryyy interesting...
Vivian: And then normally, in private, we're actually...everyone plays around crazily...But today is for taking photos. After dressing up suddenly we've changed into quiet, peaceful (people). (Vivian laughs). Actually, I'm a little bit not too use to this! Dino: Today, we have to be a bit more cool. It's completely different to how we are privately and normally.
Darren: So buy this month's Vivi Magazine, go home and flip through it slowly, look through it slowly.
Darren: And then after work, put it on the side and when you see (this) pretty girl, you'll feel very happy. ---He says pretty girl ambiguously, but there's only one pretty girl in the shoot, so he's referring to Vivian :D---
I'm thinking of buying a copy of the magazine as I can't find any scans and doing them myself because the photos are just too cute!
