My latest obsession has been Strong Woman Do Bong-Soon...Such a great drama! Between this, and Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo, I've really gotten back into Korean dramas. Perhaps it's the more feminist perspectives with stronger female characters, or the wonderful plot-driven narratives that have been playing out on screen, or the highly likable characters with consistent character development, but I'm really enjoying Korean TV after a long break from it. And it's interesting to see the shift from female leads that are tomboys, to female leads that are strong, but also girlish characters. Initially, I was a bit hesitant to join the Strong Woman camp because it sounded like it might be too similar to Weightlifting Fairy...but the stories have been quite different in look, feel and progression, but equally as good....
Anyway, the cast of Strong Woman Do Bong-Soon already have such a great relationship that it really showed in the press conference held with the 3 leads, Park Bo Young, Park Hyung Sik and Ji Soo. There's a lot of reports that Park Bo Young and Park Hyung Sik have really good chemistry, and they are totally cute with their little conversations and comfortable touchy nature here. Ji Soo is also such a cute kid to Park Bo Young with his over the top compliments of her (haha, but everyone questions his sincerity) ....And the bromance between the boys? Priceless, especially, when Park Hyung Sik does that cutesy wink and open-mouth grin!
