When I See You Again 他看她的第2眼 Competition Winners Fan Meet at Lunar Maria with Jasper, Mandy and the hostel crew

Haha, I don't think I could have shared how to get to this fan meet because it was a competition held by SETTV/SPOP and I'm pretty sure it would have been limited to Taiwanese audiences. But it was a really cool fan meet because the winners got to meet the hostel cast including Mandy and Jasper at the Lunar Maria hostel, which belongs to Mandy's character, An Xi. I love it when they make the world in a show appear real. Also this sort of doubles as a set tour! One lucky fan also had Jasper, as You Qian, "confess his love to her and put a ring on her finger"...man, this is the stuff that fangirl's dreams are made of. I'm almost kinda jealous!

Fan Meet Translation Summary

At around 4:33, SETTV's fan meet host and MC, Jian-An explains that these contestants were winners of an SPOP competition where out they were picked out of 2000 people. Lucky winners. Jian-An calls upstairs to the Lunar Maria Crew and says it's time to start work at the hostel! Mei Wen Jie, Zhi Lin, it's time to start work! But Mandy comes out first and Jian-An says My god! It's An Xi....They come down waving and Jian-An asks if they've seen this tour group that's come to their hostel. Haha, it's cute that they're playing their characters,
They do their trademark Lunar Maria greeting. Jian-An says to do it first to the camera for the fans that couldn't make it today and then to the fans that are actually taking part in the fan meet. Jian-An is being all excited as the fans come through...he says things like, "Whoa this tour guide sure is pretty!" "Yayyy, Feeling very high, very high"
At 7:14, Jian-An asks Jasper and the crew to introduce themselves. He says that Jasper, or You Qian rather, is a guest. The only guest at Lunar Maria. Jasper says: Hi Everyone, I'm You Qian. Don't think that An Xi is nice, and that you can keep getting close to her and keep taking photos of her. Excuse me, excuse me,...I'm holding a grudge (I think that's what he says much to the laughter of everyone in the room). I'm joking! Extremely happy everyone could come here. And then in a moment, everyone and An Xi will get into games in this area. Hope everyone will play very happily. I feel like this is Disneyland and we're Mickey and Minnie. This is the mouse house....and I'm Jasper Liu, Thanks everyone!
Jian-An's little announcement after Jasper's welcome speech is that everyone can take photos, but not to keep doing it, and the cast can't do invidiual selfies and they can't share the photos around, just keep them on their own phones because the cast are in free dress and not what professional actor's wear (costumes?) (It seems kinda funny to me because this whole thing ended up being recorded and we can see what they're wearing now. Strange)
Next they invite the Lady boss to introduce herself, Mandy: Hi Everyone, I'm Lunar Maria's lady boss, An Xi. (She makes some funny noises). This is probably our hostel's best day of business. Today food and drink is free for the taking and Mei Wen Jie's home-made treat is free for the taking. Hope everyone can play happily!!! Just pick a room and start living here. She starts laughing and passes the microphone to Lawrence.
Lawrence: Hi Everyone, I'm Ya Ru. Very happy to be able to meet everyone here. Hello. Hope you guys play more happily today. Yeaaaa! Now it's my little sister...He passes the microphone to Zooey
Zooey: Hi Everyone, I'm Ya En. Hope you can all really have fun and play happily today. She smiles shyly and passes the microphone to Sara.
Sara: Hi beautiful people, Good afternoon. Everyone who has come today is so youthful and has influenced us. Welcome to Lunar Maria hostel! Hope everyone will play cheerfully! Thank you!
Last of all is Tina: Hello Everyone, I'm Zhi Lin. I hear everyone today has come from very far-away places, is that right? Who has come from the furthest place? Apart from Taipei. (They start naming cities in Taiwan). I hear they all drove their cars here. Did you feel Lunar Maria is a bit hot? Don't you think we need to buy two air conditioning machines? Our fan's secret feelings, I can hear them!
Jian-An says today the fans can interact with the characters, chattering like people at a market. They're also here to celebrate the high ratings and hoping to break a 3 with the TV ratings. Jian-An says they're here to play games and Jasper is ready: Play? Ok, let's play! JIan-An: Not play the way you would play!
They're going to do an elimination-round contest (PK), with the winners continuing onto the next round. Jian-An starts dividing the 26 fans into groups, but then realises he hasn't given the instructions...he says, I'm so happy to be here that I haven't given the instructions. Hahaha. So he invites Mandy and Jasper to show how the game is played. It consists of 3 movements (So a movement based game, linked to rock, paper, scissors). The first movement is called "Unibrow." Jian-An asks Mandy how they should do this action. Mandy does an awkward head movement and puts her two fingers over her real eyebrows. Jasper actually joins the fingers. So they decide that;s the correct one. The second movement is called "An Du Du." Mandy does her character's trademark fingers and waves it around, so that's the second move. The third move is a specialty of Zhi Lin and Mei Wen Jie, which is the goose neck move which they name "Er" (Chinese word for goose).
It is a basically a rock paper scissor game, with the person winning the rock, paper, scissors round then transferring their actions into one of the 3 actions mentioned above. Mandy and Jasper do the demonstration and Mandy wins by quickly doing the goose move. Mandy laughs and points at Jasper who didn’t react. They do a second round because it seems Jasper wasn’t ready for the first one. The action ends up being unibrow, but Mandy still wins because Jasper is too slow.
After the demonstration the fans are divided into groups to play the game tournament style with the Lunar Maria crew. Those who have been tapped belong to the A group and have to play either Zooey or Lawrence, B side plays Sara or Tina. Winners of the A side will play Mandy, winners of the B side will play Jasper. There’s a long section where everyone is playing the game. Jasper is standing there, enjoying making the moves with Sara while he waits for the winners to emerge who he'll play against.
Winners go stand next to Tina. The first winner of A side plays Mandy. They sing the Lunar Maria song and then play rock paper scissors and transfer the moves. Mandy wins the first round. She keeps drawing with the second person, but ultimately she wins. Mandy keeps telling everyone not to be nervous and does a cute apology when she wins…but she’s good and is winning most of her games. Jian-An mentions how good she is after she wins the last game with the goose move.
Jasper comes up to play and Mandy cheers jumping up and down saying "Good Luck!" It’s really funny because he’s slow to the game. He pulls out the first move and asks Jian-An, “Is this ok?” He does the moves awkwardly, which is hilarious because the girl he’s playing with also doesn’t know the moves, so it's confusing. And everyone says Jasper's actions look strange. He wins the second and third games and hi-5 everyone, but then loses the next game.…Jasper says the actions really loudly which confuses everyone and Jian-An makes a joke about how loudly he announces his moves. Anyway, a male winner comes forward and Jian-An says "You should get a chance to play with Mandy." The guy agrees readily, much to everyone’s laughter. So Mandy comes forward and Jasper and her change places, holding hands as they go. Jasper says to her, "Finish him!”
Jian-An says that Mandy should use a softer, girlish voice to chant the Lunar Maria song to make the fan happier. Jasper barges in and says to let him do it on the microphone, he tries to chant the song in a sissy voice but breaks out laughing. Everyone else laughs at his antics.
The mic goes back to Mandy. Mandy says to the guy, “OK. Goodluck” in a very deadpan voice, before breaking out into a laugh. And everyone laughs. Jian-An says "You're very manly" to Mandy! Sara says that too. Mandy plays against the guy and does her moves rather quickly and dominantly that everyone laughs because she's throwing out all the moves and in the other player's face. Anyway, she ends up winning and Jian-An says that as the only boy he should get some reward, so Mandy gives him a hug and says "Good Boy." Haha.
Jian-An calls out for the next person to play, but there's no more. So there's only one girl who won...So Jian -An: "Where are youuu (In English)? There you are. You've won." He says she's amazing for winning and he's going to give her a special gift. He says in the drama, there's a sequence where An Xi and You Qian make their confessions to each other. He says that the winner can choose someone from the Lunar Maria crew there to have a confession with and pretend that they are her boyfriend or girlfriend. Tina says that she'll just go to sleep in the corner (because she probably won't be chosen), Mandy and the others say that too. Jian-An asks her to tell him (in his ear) who she has in her heart.
He then says loudly, "I knew you would choose differently from other people." Jian-An then turns to the Lunar crew and says, "She choose different to the one that you guys were thinking of, really!" The Lunar crew look surprised and mystified. Jian-An: "The one she actually chose was...Jasper". Everyone bursts out laughing, especially Mandy, because everyone was expecting her to choose Jasper, of course! Tina says to Jian-An, for a moment she got her hopes up thanks to him.
Jian-An says that he's going to get an introduction/practice for Jasper's confession to her. Because she's the only stranger in the group, it's better if Mandy helps with training (for the confession). He calls Mandy and Jasper up for training. Tina is cheering, "Yeah, Confession time!" Anyway, Jian-An runs through why they should do this and what scene,
Mandy asks on the microphone, "Wait, in front of everyone do you want to dance?" Jasper: "Dancing?" He starts doing some daggy boogie moves and laughs "I can't dance!" He starts taking Mandy's hand "But I will make a confession to you...Ya Ru" (Ah, Jasper...always confessing to the boys!) Everyone laughs and Mandy slaps him lazily. Jasper: "An unconventional and free confession, unconventional and free." He says how strange it is...and then launches into the confession.
Jasper holding onto Mandy's hand and looking into her face. "I like you," Jasper starts laughing as he continues on, "I really, really, really like you." Mandy looks like she's trying not to laugh too. He then turns to Jian-An: "Is that OK? Do I need to go on?" Jian-An says it's OK, but he didn't even show a sense of closeness. Jasper goes to hug Mandy and Mandy hugs him back saying: "OK, good boy, good boy...good boy" as she pats his back like an auntie would. Haha. Jasper laughing: "Ah, I'm good. Thank you" Jasper than says "Why does it have a mother comforting a small child type of feeling?"
