Filming Locations for Someday or One Day 想見你 - Tainan, Taiwan PART 2

Given the love for the first set of Someday or One Day filming locations I wrote about, and the fact that I kept finding more and more locations in Tainan I wanted to visit from the drama, I've decided to write a second list of filming locations for Tainan! For those that missed the first list which includes places like 32 Record store and Grandma Mo's shaved ice store, you can find those locations here.

Please Note: None of these photos are mine - please see below pictures for the credits and like the photos on the accounts of the photo takers :)

1. The sweet store that Little Huang Yu Xuan & Li Zi Wei visit while trying to find her grandma's house (their mini 'date'!) - Tai Nan Gu Zao Wei Peng Tang 台南古早味椪糖/ Tainan Ancient Peng Sugar

Address: No. 33, Guosheng Road, Anping District, Tainan City (It's on Anping Old Street - just outside and around Tianhou Temple)

Chinese Address: 台南市安平區國勝路33號 (開台天后宮)

Opening Hours: Seems to be open only on weekends

Youtube Video Walkthrough: Location is revealed at 23:30 on the video

This is where one of the cutest scenes in the drama takes place - Li Zi Wei helps the lost little girl to find her way home and sees her looking curiously at the sugar cookie stall. Next thing you know, he's helping her stir the brown sugar to make the cookie. It's a sweet scene (literally!) because Li Zi Wei is such a kind big brother to this random little kid (not knowing that one day she'll be the future Huang Yu Xuan!) It also counts as an innocent little date XD The cookie featured in this scene is actually a very traditional street snack that is only really found in Tainan. It's called Peng Tang (椪糖) and it's a type of puffed up, hollow sweet, made from brown sugar and bi-carb soda that puffs ups when stirred intensely over heat. There are a number of stalls in Tainan and they all don't really have specific names (I've just gone with the signage which tells you what he sells) and pretty much no social media presence, so it can be tricky to find some of them. The stall featured in Someday or One Day has been confirmed to be on Anping Old Street as the whole sequence featuring Little Huang Yu Xuan was shot here (you can see this from the person's Youtube video above).  If you walk about the Anping Old Street area, you'll find a lot of delicious Tainan street snacks including Li Zi Wei's favourite fried mochi snack.

2. The winter melon tea Li Zi Wei buys little Huang Yu Xuan when she says she's thirsty while trying to find her grandma's house (their mini 'date'!) -  Qingcao Cha, Xigua Zhi, Juhua Cha, Donggua Cha 青草茶西瓜汁菊花茶 & 冬瓜Grass Tea, Watermelon Juice, Chrysanthemum Tea & Winter Melon Tea

Youtube Video Walkthrough: Location is revealed at 34:10 on the video

Like the old fashioned sweet stall above, this is one of the places Li Zi Wei and Little Huang Yu Xuan visit on their journey back to her grandma's house. She tells him she's thirsty and while he's buying her some winter melon tea, she's looking for some other fun things to do... it's cute and people often joke that it's an innocent Li Zi Wei and Huang Yu Xuan date. Also like the sweet stall above, I'm not entirely convinced that this stall has a proper name (Again, I've just gone with the top banner across the stall which tells you what it sells). Although the stall is covered in writing, it's actually just all the different types of teas and juices and drinks it sells. I guess a lot of old fashioned vendors didn't really think there was any point in naming their stores as long as they made it distinctive looking and showed what types of things they sold. This stall is definitely distinctive looking with it's yellow and red banners. They've also added signage to show that they're one of the official drama filming spots! They share an address with the sweet stall above because they're just situated just outside Tianhou temple.

3. Little Huang Yu Xuan's Grandma's house -Anping Xi Long Dian 安平西龍殿 /Anping West Dragon Hall

Address: No. 12, Lane 35, Guosheng Road, Anping District, Tainan City

Chinese Address: 台南市安平區國勝路35巷12號

Google Co-ordinates: Anping Xi Long Dian Houses

This is where the lost little girl who Li Zi Wei looks after reveals her big secret - she's the young version of Huang Yu Xuan! (Also, she's in the correct timeline of when her and Li Zi Wei should meet.) I like this location because it's quite pretty for a photo, but it really is just a photo stop because it's an actual residential area. People live in these houses, so if you do go to visit, make sure not to be too loud, or go at odd hours - just be respectful :) This street is actually not too far from some of the other filming locations (within walking distance), so it's a good place to have a quick photo stop.

4. The laneway with artwork where Huang Yu Xuan & Mo Jun Jie argue while searching for the murderer - Tainan Wanli Minglun Shufang 臺南灣裡 明倫書坊 (旁邊路)/ Laneway next to Tainan Wanli Minglun Bookstore

Address: The bookstore is No. 244, Wanli Road, South District, Tainan City, Taiwan 702. There's a little laneway just next to it with red gates, walk down and you'll find the artwork. The address for the artwork itself is No. 6, Lane 246, Wanli Road, South District, Tainan City, Taiwan 702.

Chinese Address: 南區永寧里灣裡路244號 (旁邊路)

Google Co-ordinates: Wall Art in Xishu Wanli

This is a really pretty piece of street art, which I think a lot of fans have actually forgotten about! In the drama, Huang Yu Xuan and Mo Jun Jie try to find a way to trace the murderer after school, but they end up have an argument about Li Zi Wei since Mo June Jie (not knowing that the girl in front of him isn't the real Chen Yun Ru) accuses Huang Yu Xuan of acting differently just so Li Zi Wei will like her. The argument takes place in this laneway, in front of this pretty piece of street art. The funny thing is that some fans have come close to this location, but haven't taken photos of it. Instead, they took photos in front of the very normal bookshop called Tainan Wanli Minglun Bookstore, which is briefly in the background when Huang Yu Xuan and Mo Jun Jie first begin their conversation. Ironically, the characters spend more time in front of the street art than the bookstore, so it's weird that fans take pictures at the bookstore. For some reason, the Someday or One Day social media team who released all the filming locations gave the bookshop address rather than the artwork address (probably to help boost local business), so I guess fans went to the bookshop forgetting the beautiful street art beside it. It would seem out of the way to travel just for one piece of street art, but luckily this neighbourhood is full of street art. If you're coming here, it would also be worth visiting 'Xishu Old Street' (喜樹老街) which is a maze of old houses with street art, particularly focused on fish and cats. They also sell some cool handcrafts there including fish bags. It's 20 minutes straight down the same road to get there. You can see the google map directions here.

5. Fengnan High School ( Li Zi Wei, Mo Jun Jie & Chen Yun Ru's High School) - Fenghe High Gao Zhong 鳳和高中/ Fenghe High School

Address: No. 1330, Section 2, Zhongshan East Road, Liuying District

Chinese Address: 柳營區中山東路二段1330號

The high school is where a good majority of the drama takes place, so it's a central filming location for Someday or One Day. It's a bit of a weird place to visit when you're travelling because schools are more guarded than universities for the safety of minors. Nonetheless, Fenghe High School have understood the popularity that has come from the drama and have allowed people to visit the school within certain times to go on tours and take photos. The school even put up a bunch of posters for the the film and moved out Li Zi Wei's desk for people to do the Li Zi Wei sleeping pose! But it looks like tours have been on pause ever since Covid started. I'm not sure if they've resumed again, or if it's been permanently stopped now though. For those that really want to take photos, it is possible to take snaps of the entrance and some of the outside gates that the characters walked past without entering the grounds. But if you do get the chance to join a tour of the school, please be aware that it's an actual functioning high school with students, so be respectful and keep noise to a minimum :)

For those interested in the school tour, there's a Chinese blogger who talks about the experience here:

Bonus Filming Prop:  Boge chuangyi cha yin 波哥創意茶飲 / Mini Earth Men Bogo Bubble Tea

Address: No. 58, Shengli Road, East District, Tainan City

Chinese Address: 台南市東區勝利路58號

Opening hours: 7:30am-10:20pm

Bogo's bubble tea features in the drama, but they never go to the actual store. Chen Yun Ru is drinking the bubble tea in the very opening scenes. Later in the series, Mo Jun Jie and Li Zi Wei also bring Chen Yun Ru a bubble tea from Bogo's when they visit her at 32 Record store. Eagle eyed fans spotted that the drink had the Bogo logo, so fans who go on the pilgrimage to all the Someday or One Day filming locations often grab a bubble tea from the closest Bogo store. It looks like this bubble tea chain is well known in Tainan. Though they just look like any other ordinary franchise, they've opened up a fancy cafe in Taipei called BuBu Cafe! I'll not confuse anyone with the Taipei store details. But if you're interested in the fancy Taipei cafe, you can just look at the Google Map details here and read the blogs linked below. I'll also put pictures of Bubu Cafe so you know how fancy I'm talking about :)

For those interested in the Fancier Taipei cafe, you can read about it in the following blogs:

This is the end of my list for filming locations in Tainan, though I'll be writing filming locations for Yilan, Taipei & Taoyuan. I've mostly selected places I'd like to go as well as places where important events occur in the drama. There are obviously a lot of other filming locations that the Someday or One Day team released which can be found on the official Someday or One Day Facebook page as well as the official Someday or One Day Wikipedia page, which I'll list below. There's also a map which you can look at (limited size) as well as a bunch of other websites that list the filming locations (though most are in Chinese). Thanks for travelling virtually with me. If you like this post, please make sure to share with other fans :)
