Filming Locations for Someday or One Day 想見你 - Taipei, Taiwan & Taoyuan, Taiwan

The more recognisable and nostalgic locations are all in Tainan, but there are still a handful of places to visit relating to Huang Yu Xuan and Wang Quan Sheng's life in Taipei! However, for those looking for a foodie adventure there's comparatively less food based locations here - only Spirit Cafe (32 Cafe) is a food stop. Tarrot Coffee, where Huang Yu Xuan finds out that she needs to look for the number 32, is technically a cafe, but it is much less of a food cafe than it is a 'spiritual' cafe where you assess your energy and get tarot readings, though it seems like you might possibly be able to get chai tea and cake there. The Korean BBQ that Huang Yu Sheng & Wang Quan Sheng worked at closed down in January this year, as did the cafe that Wang Quan Sheng worked at while searching for Huang Yu Xuan again. Even the hipster cafe at the design studio, Picamat, seems to have permanently closed. It seems somewhat ironic to close just when business might get good, but it's possible they may have picked those locations to film at because they already had plans to shut down and were generally quieter spots in a busy city. But, don't despair, 32 Cafe looks like it's full of good food and I'd included more food photos from there since it's the only foodie location.

Please Note: None of these photos are mine - please see below pictures for the credits and like the photos on the accounts of the photo takers :)

1.  32 Cafe - Hao Wu Spirit Cafe 好物 Spirit 咖啡/ Good Food Spirit Cafe

Address: No. 17, Lane 189, Section 2, Anhe Road, Da’an District, Taipei City, Taiwan 106

Chinese Address: 台北市大安區安和路二段189巷17號

Opening Hours: 10:30-9:00pm Monday-Friday, 10:00-8:00pm Saturday-Sunday

The cafe owned by Chen Yun Ru's uncle in Taipei is actually a cafe - But it's called Hao Wu Spirit Cafe (or Spirit Cafe for short). Most of Huang Yu Xuan's time-travel story in Taipei takes place here, so like the location for 32 record store in Tainan, this cafe has become very popular with lots of fans taking photos outside the cafe (sometimes dressed as the characters.) Although you never really see what Huang Yu Xuan and her friend eat specifically in the show, many fans who visit also try a number of delicious dishes at Spirit cafe. The place is known for it's western food, beef noodles and very large selection of cakes, which seem to change regularly.

2. Li Zi Wei's Architecture Studio Workplace - Picamat Lab Studio & Design Library Picamat 室內材料圖書館

Address: No. 10, 1F,  Xinyi Road, Section 3, Lane 147, Alley 15, Da’an District, Taiwan City, Taiwan, 106

Chinese Address: 台北市大安區信義路三段147巷15弄10號1樓

Opening hours: 10:30-6:00pm, Wednesday to Saturday

Picamat is actually the filming location for the extra Someday or One Day ending video, where we get confirmation of a happy ending since Li Zi Wei not only knows Huang Yu Xuan, he clearly has a crush on her and is elated when she brings him a cake for his birthday. I actually think this is a pretty cool place to visit since it's a design studio that focuses on materials. It's called Picamat because it literally stands for 'Pick a Material!' A few years ago they opened up the entrance floor as a cool design cafe - for coffee, cake and magazines. And it seemed to be operating till about March this year...but now it's Facebook page says it's permanently closed. The rest of the space requires an almost $500 co-working membership to enter (not sure if USD or TWD). But I think it's still possible to check out the space if you're interested in design and materials - you just have to set up an appointment beforehand as they only allow visit by appointment (the cafe was the only non-membership space and I'm not sure that exists anymore).

3. The Park where Huang Yu Xuan & Wang Quan Sheng walk the dog - Dagouxi Waterfront Park/ Dagou Riverside Park 內湖大溝溪/ 大溝溪生態治水園區

Address: Dahushanzhuang St, Neihu District, Taipei City, Taiwan

Chinese Address: 台北市內湖區近大湖山莊街

Dagou Waterfront Park was the filming location for one of Huang Yu Xuan's memories about Wang Quan Sheng: In their college years, it seems they were trying to take photos with a cute dog in a park and ended up taking selfies instead. It's a cute memory that helps to shape our feelings towards Wang Quan Sheng. While Dagou Waterfront Park is confirmed as the filming location, there hasn't yet been a specific point in the park identified as the place where the characters took their photos. The scene is just a memory rather than a turning point in the drama, so this filming location seems to be a less visited by fans who tend to go to the parks used as filming locations in Tainan. But it doesn't look like it'd be hard to find the spot - The fence runs along the main part of the park, so following that would be the first step. The second step would be to look for the rocks and bench next to the characters or the building behind them in the comparison photos. If you're just looking to visit and actually experience the park,  this place is a beautiful bit of nature outside of the hustle and bustle of Taipei city - there's lots of little trails, a beautiful river with smooth rocks, ducks waddling everywhere and cute little owl shaped statues. In certain seasons there are also lots of flower beds in the middle of the park.

4. The Beach where Huang Yu Xuan & Li Zi Wei say good bye for the last time - Xialiao Beach 下寮海滩 / 金山加投下寮海攤

Address: Wanli District,  New Taipei City, Taiwan, 207

Chinese Address: 新北市萬里區

This is where the saddest scene of the entire drama takes place - the final goodbye between Huang Yu Xuan and Li Zi Wei before the timeline loop is resolved and their stories cease to exist. To be honest, I'm personally not a beach person so I don't know if I'd make it here. But I have heard it's a peaceful beach and way less touristy than some other places. So if you're looking to go to a beach that is more meaningful and reflective, this one might is worth a visit!

5. Huang Yu Xuan & Wang Quan Sheng's university - Kainan University 開南大學

Address: No. 1, Kainan Road, Luzhu District, Taoyuan City, Taiwan 338

Chinese Address: 桃園 市蘆竹區開南路1號

Huang Yu Xuan & Wang Quan Sheng's University is actually not in Taipei, but in the neighbouring Taoyuan City which is an hour away. Taoyuan is where the International airport is so it could be a good place to visit before heading home. I was surprised that I couldn't find many students talking about their university being featured in Someday or One Day! But I suppose it's not such an exciting place when it's where you go to hand in assignments. It also might not surprise the students here as quite a few dramas have been filmed at Kainan University and stars like Melvin Sia have visited before. The only post I found was a recent one by someone who was driving to Taoyuan and decided to stop by and shoot some cute drama comparison photos, which I've included below. While I couldn't find which building & staircase Li Zi Wei makes his confession at, I did find the beautiful leafy pathway that they walked through when Huang Yu Xuan helped him look for his classroom. The path is called Xiangyang Walkway (向陽步道), which basically means 'pathway facing the sun' and it's covered in Wisteria plants that bloom seasonally. It looks like they were not in season when Someday or One Day was shot, so the walkway was more lush and green. But when in bloom, the Wisterias sure are beautiful - There are a number of blogs advising people on how to find this path during Wisteria season.

This concludes my series of Someday or One Day filming location travel guides! Hope everyone has had fun reading these and that they're useful. If you can currently get to these places, you're lucky! For most people who can't travel during Covid, hope these have given you something to look forward to for future travels. Taiwan is a lovely place to visit on the whole and linking to a drama I love just makes it a whole lot more fun for travel. Of course, the filming locations I've talked about are just places I'm more interested in visiting myself and are often for the more important scenes from the drama. If there's anywhere I missed, it's likely that you can find it in one of the more comprehensive lists below (though they are in Chinese). If you've missed my past Someday or One Day Filming location travel guides, you can find them below, under the 'Other Posts you might like if you enjoyed this post' section. Thanks for travelling virtually with me!
