I just love award shows for reuniting all the good drama casts of the year. And the big reunion that everyone has been looking forward to has not disappointed. The main stars of Someday and One Day, Greg Hsu and Alice Ke, turned up to the 2020 Golden Bell Awards looking super classy in matching Black outfits (And if you look closely, the crew members for the drama are all dressed in Black - so I think it was a team decision!)
There are a number of videos of Greg and Alice arriving on the red carpet and doing their interviews. I have translated most of the interview below for those interested in what the pair were talking about.
The interviews were quite sweet. The presenters kept making a big deal about how many of Greg's fans had come to cheer him on, particularly his female fans (collectively known as the Mrs Hsu's or Hsu wives!) Not only did they comment on this, they also pointed out the fans hanging out on both sides of the barriers and made them cheer for Greg. Being very considerate of his co-star, Greg also asked the crowd, "Can we have a cheer for Alice as well?" Which the crowd did. The interviewers asked Greg if the type of girls he preferred were more like Chen Yun Ru or Huang Yu Xuan and Greg replied "Chen Yu Xuan - a combination of both." The presenter then asked, "Or would you prefer Alice, herself?" Greg replied that Alice was the best - he praised her with a thumbs up, making her laugh. The presenters then asked Alice, "In order to fit in with the younger guys at the start of filming, did you behaved more crudely?" Alice said she joked around with the boys as she didn't want them to feel uncomfortable. And Greg stepped in to say that it's because she's a Senior and they were just Juniors, to which Alice replied laughing, "Why are you still being like that today?" Greg said that Alice put down her status as an established actor to meet them on their level, so he was really grateful to her for that.
The presenters then asked if Alice was really not happy about Greg's crazy popularity and had blocked him on social media (This relates to a joke Alice told at the Writer's Symposium). Alice joked again that she had - But then she said, "No, of course not! It's just the way that Greg, Patrick and I joke around." The presenters then said they saw Alice had had been practising singing (she recently sung as a guest at a concert for the band 831) and asked if she was going to be the first female member. She laughed and said they'd have to see after tonight (If she didn't get the award). The presenters also said since Greg was also going to be a singer, would they be able to sing Miss You 3000? Both Greg and Alice looked nervous and put on the spot. The presenters said the words were being screened in front of them (behind the camera) and Alice was like, "Where?" The presenter joked that Alice was pretending not to see - but Greg stepped in and said he also couldn't see! But after saying this, they both sung and did a mini duet right there and then! After that, they talked about their next upcoming projects - Alice said you would get to see a different side of her in her current project which she's filming - more comedic. Greg said in his next project he also wanted to show a different side, maybe do more action scenes. They asked Greg to make some heart signs for his fans and then both Greg and Alice stepped off for photos.
