While researching the filming locations for Yong Jiu Grocery Store, as well as filming locations for Someday or One Day, I came across a lot of promotions that happened while the dramas were on air. Unlike the filming locations which you can still visit, these promotional activities were only available for a limited time, so they're no longer around and it's unlikely you'd be able to see them now even if you could make it to Taiwan. Still, they were great marketing ideas for the dramas, so I thought it'd be nice to look the pictures and appreciate the concepts. Hopefully if I like a Taiwanese drama in the future, they'll do some sort of promotions like these ones when I'm visiting the country!
Yong Jiu Grocery Store Taipei Pop Up Store
While it's possible to visit the actual filming set for Yong Jiu Grocery Store in Chiayi City, not everyone could make it there easily. So it was a fun (and very meta) idea to have a pop up shop with a similar feel to Yong Jiu Grocery Shop set up in Huashan 1914 Creative Park in Taipei last year. Huashan is such a fun place full of quirky shops, exhibitions, indie performing spaces and pop up stores, so it would have been the perfect place to host this little replica pop up shop. It also looks like some of the props from the actual drama were transported to this space. For example, I never saw any photos of the gaming machine at the actual filming location....but it looks like they had the machine brought over to this pop up shop! (Or at least a very good replica!)

Mini Exhibition for Someday or One Day
Another way of displaying props would be to have a mini exhibition, which is what happened at Eslite bookstore in Taipei. I love bookstores and I love exhibitions - so I'm totally jealous of those that got to see the Someday or One Day props on display here. For those that haven't been, Eslite is a very luxurious bookstore in Taipei, multiple floor, open 24/7 for night time readers....so it's a pretty wonderful place to hold a mini exhibition. It looks like they had a number of props on show here including the characters' school bags, Chen Yun Ru's headphone and diary and the time-travel walkman. Also on display was the Li Zi Wei's drawing of Huang Yu Xuan. There also seemed to be a lot of very impressive screen displays not only in the store, but around the elevators. I'm sad to have missed all these exhibits, but very appreciative to the fans that took these nice pictures.
